Brand field guide Vol. 01

This is
Pickaxe.

A field guide to how we look, how we sound, and why there’s a gnome holding a pickaxe.

01Our story

A good tool starts
with a person.

A teacher knows when a student is stuck. A coach knows which question to ask next. That kind of judgment is the starting point for an agent built on Pickaxe.

We make tools for turning what you know into something other people can use. Build an AI agent, give it your instructions, and share or sell it through a portal with your name on it.

That’s why our name is a tool. The person holding it gets to decide what to make.

03Color

Gold at the core.

Gold is the first color we reach for. Plum gives it weight. Blue and Chalk bring a little air to the edges of the palette.

04Typography

Type with character.

Hoss Sharp gives our headlines their cut edges. FF Real Head Pro carries the explanation underneath, from a button label to a page of instructions.

05Illustration

Meet the crew.

Our gnomes give invisible software a pair of hands. They write, build, pass messages, and occasionally put a pickaxe straight through the page.

From the sketchbook
One gnome writes at a workbench while another reads from an armchair.
Study / 01

At the workbench

A desk, a pencil, a page. Start with objects you can name and a task you can see.

06Voice

How we sound.

Write like the person at the next workbench: curious about what someone is making and ready with one useful suggestion.

V / 01

Be specific.

Say what the tool does. A real task is easier to picture than a big promise.

“Turn your course notes into a tutor your students can ask for help.”
V / 02

Hand over the tool.

Make the next step small enough that someone can try it right now.

“Upload one lesson. Then ask your agent a question students often ask you.”
V / 03

Save the wink.

Let the red hats carry the joke. When someone needs help, keep the words plain.

“Your file didn’t upload. Choose it again to retry.”
